Joseph was a good and righteous man who was waiting as Jesus instructed for the kingdom of God, he was doing the will of God, he was on the alert. Yet, his waiting did not look like waiting in a line at the market inactive stuck and paralyzed doing nothing. His waiting looked very much like moving, working and laboring, in no way did waiting for joseph mean being still or tranquil.

At times my heart is pricked either by a scripture, a biblical worldview or a life experience. When that happens I write. Here you will find essays and devotions that highlight spiritual insights and musings.
Reflecting Christ
I cannot understand the full scope of God crucified by men and yet simultaneously with men. I cannot understand why in his final hour the Lord was consoled not by the perfect righteousness of God above him, but by the fallen sinner beside him.

We celebrate Passover and remember Messiah is coming to free us!
A few years ago I was given a gift, an antique Haggadah. My Father purchased it at an auction. A Haggadah is a Jewish book which you read during the Seder meal. The silver covered book is ornamental, but quite functional. It is in both Hebrew and English with colorful illustrations and words. It was … Continue reading We celebrate Passover and remember Messiah is coming to free us!

Photo by Jenna Richardson on Pexels.com I was vacuuming my living room floor, under chairs, over rugs and between tables legs. Sexual Sin Weakens Faith
Judges 16 I have read the account of Samson and Delilah many times, it is a sad tragedy of a mighty man losing his strength to deceptive beauty and a lover who betrayed him. Luke 10:38-42 It was Martha who welcomed Jesus into her home. ‘Lord do you not care …my sister has left me to serve alone…’ I hear loneliness in Martha’s plea to the Lord. Typically, this verse is interpreted to juxtapose busy preparations with quiet learning to teach a lesson about work with faith. however, when … Continue reading The ache of lonely
Thoughts on Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving begins in the heart not at the table. For all of us this year thanksgiving looks different. But when I read from chronicles this slightly overused but true verse, give thanks to the lord for he is good. I realize we are not instructed to give thanks for our good things, but for HE … Continue reading Thoughts on Thanksgiving
Made Alive
I woke up at 4:00 a.m. this morning and turned to Ephesians 2. "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the [a]course of this world." It's a truth I need to hear. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that … Continue reading Made Alive
