The Work is Done

Oh my Father, oh my Shepherd King

The love you offer are tears that sting

 salty wounds and ashen face

lonely deserts , lands of waste

Rocky Terrace , unknown Depths

a wooden cross , a painful death

to know this glory how can I bear

to taste the suffering and heaven share

unless you take my place oh God

And fill me with eternal love

Create in me a heart of flesh and softened Clay

to write your precious words of truth

that put your power on display

I am a vessel broken

a life re made

You send a love unspoken

With a burden fully paid

all this lord, I cannot bear to carry

all your love I cannot hope endure

But your seed did never Tarry

to lift the sin and bring the cure

when the end of all my strength is held

within my trembling hands

you bid me walk beside thee in a milk and Honey land

all the grief from hence we come is left behind

the work is done!
